When TREATING your alternating symptoms, it's important to take a holistic approach to it.
This involves things you can do yourself as well as medications your doctor can give you - the latter only if really necessary.
I know i've said it before, but I'm going to say it again, the biggest thing you can do is pay attention to the foods you eat.
In alternating Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I would advise a high fiber diet to start, but if this is ineffective, then look at an exclusion diet. You can read more about this in the diet section of the website.

It really depends on whether your diarrhea predominates or whether constipation is the leader as to how you take this.
